The Root Chakra or First Chakra is the seat of the kundalini. Located at the base of the spine at the tailbone in the back and pubic bone in the front, the Root Chakra governs the areas of grounding, self-preservation, survival, instinct, vital energy, physical health, the tribe, past lives, security, safety, the animal nature, the element earth, the Earth Goddess, and natural pleasures. Overall the First Chakra presides over the realization of the divine in the physical body, transmutation of the body with spirit, ideas anchorage, and manifestation of creativity. The Root Chakra provides the energy to succeed in the material world and grounds the cosmic energy Shakti, bringing centered blissful joy into the physical body. Divided by four spokes or petals, the First Chakra is associated primarily with colour red but also with the colours brown and black. When the energy of the Root Chakra is blocked, you become fearful, insecure, frustrated, victimized, anxious, and have weight problems.
Black
tourmaline, Hematite, Smoky Quartz, Back and Snowflake Obsidian and Garnet can
be all be used for Crystal Healing of the Root Chakra.
The Navel Chakra or Second Chakra is the seat of human needs and desires. Located two inches below the navel and rooted in the spine, the Navel Chakra governs the areas of friendliness, gut instincts, confidence, blame, control, passion, fidelity, and spontaneity. Over the Second Chakra presides over the emotions, how you hold traumas, how you insulate ourselves from the negativity of others, and your openness to new relationships. Ruled by the water element, the Moon and Vulcan, the Navel Chakra presides over intuition, ethics, self worth, energy flow, the womb, sexuality, and reproduction. Divided by six spokes or petals, the Second Chakra is associated primarily with colour orange but also with colours red, and white in Tantra. The Navel Chakra area includes the kidneys, bladder, and large intestine. When the energy of the Sacral Chakra is blocked, you become manipulative, obsessed with sexual thoughts, suffer energy depletion, and constipation. A person with an obstructed Second Chakra will suffer from reproductive organ diseases, and become emotionally explosive, greedy, and anxious.
Bloodstone, Red Jasper,
Orange Calcite, Tigers Eye and Carnelian can all be used for Crystal Healing of
the Second Chakra.
